'Medieval' Christmas Banquet @ Garryvoe Hotel
18 November 2011
Saturday Dec 3rd, Garryvoe Hotel, Castlemartyr, Co Cork
Calling all Knights, Knaves and Fair Maidens! If you are looking for a Christmas Feast with a difference, whether you’re a couple of foodies or a group looking for a office Christmas party with a twist, look no further than the Medieval Christmas Banquet at the Garryvoe Hotel, East Cork on Saturday, December 3rd.
The night will begin on arrival with gauntlets of Meade served to you by the maidens of the court while you listen to the Celtic medieval music of the mandolin. This will be followed by a fully seated medieval banquet meal which includes dishes such as a haunch of turf smoked wild venison, a ‘bird within a bird’ – a medieval style delicacy of three birds cooked in one, suckling pig, gruel and a range of medieval sweet surprises with plums and pears all washed down with wine.
All will be served on long banquet tables and staff will be dressed in medieval dress. Dishes will be presented to guests and divided out in front of them in true banquet style. The Christmas Medieval Banquet at the Garryvoe Hotel costs €49.50 and guests can avail of a special offer rate of €110 per person sharing for an overnight stay to include the banquet and breakfast the following morning.
The Garryvoe Hotel is looking out over Ballycotton Bay Harbour in East Cork and is a four star award winning hotel which recently won the platinum award at the Green Hospitality Awards for the hotels eco friendly initiatives as well as a White Flag Award for their Leisure Club Facilities.
