The Headfort Arms Hotel is a listed building in the heart Kells - a heritage town and the origin of the world famous Book of Kells. Many people who visit The Book of Kells in its new home in Trinity College, Dublin also like to come and see the the origins of this wonderful piece of Irish history.

The historic town of Kells is situated in the Boyne Valley, Meath and is described as Ireland's Heritage Capital. Located only 35 mins from Dublin, it is an area of Ireland that is beautiful to explore and also allows an opportunity to visit the famous Newgrange Stone Monument.

 

For the active among you and located only a few minutes from the hotel, Headfort Golf Club boasts 2 golf courses set in a parkland with many lakes and challenges to oversome on this sprawling 460 acre estate. The hotel offers special golfing packages allowing you to take on these 2 courses on consecutive days.

 

For guests who enjoy gourmet food, we invite you to follow the flavours of some artisan produce of the Boyne Valley on the Meath Food Trail. Visit an array of Meath’s best artisan producers (pictured above) on site and enjoy the stories of their success first hand. Sample their produce, enjoy a tour of their production and savour a little bit of hospitality too! Then return back to the hotel and enjoy a ’30 Mile Radius’ Menu at the Award Winning Vanilla Pod Restaurant, the best of Irish and local!
