Cafe Arnou Cocktail and Wine Bar opened it's doors to a packed house on Friday 21st June midsummer night. Lee Gooch Highland Radio was our MC for the evening cutting the ribbon with proprietor, Aisling Arnold, along with Donegal GAA players Christy Toye, Martin McElhinney and Daniel McLaughlin. The stunning location in the picturesque village of Dunfanaghy with magnificent views of Horn Head and Killahoey Beach sets the scene for a relaxing night out with family and friends with delicious Food, Wine and Cocktails.
Aisling saw the niche in the market in Dunfanaghy for something new and exciting after her extensive travels in Australia and set her sights on Cafe Arnou Cocktail & Wine Bar. Her dream has come true and the vibrant Cafe is already attracting visitors and locals to sample the delicious food, Cocktails and Wine. The outdoor dining area is already proving very popular with diners who can have a bite to eat with a glass of wine or Prosecco or sipping delicious cocktails watching the world go by.
Cafe Arnou has a variety of menus to suit every taste and budget. To kick start the day there's an exciting Breakfast menu served 9.00 - 12 .00 offering healthy eating options including Granola topped with strawberries and Fresh Low Fat Yogurt and delicious fresh fruit smoothies to revitalise the energy levels. Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale is already a firm favourite..This is followed by lunch offering a variety of Gourmet Sandwiches and hot dishes including Warm Chicken and Bacon Salad tossed with sautéed baby potatoes, roasted bell peppers, pine nuts, baby corn and a rocket and balsamic dressing served 12.00 - 5.00 p.m.
The evening menu is available from 6.00 - 9.00 p.m. offering a range of hot dishes and delicious starters to whet the appetite including Tigers Prawns sauteed with garlic spices and herbs and Bruschetta served with Goats Cheese, Sundried Tomatoes and Pesto. The Vegetarian dish with Roasted Peppers stuffed with Spinach, Tomatoes and Feta Cheese is simply delicious. Fish lovers will enjoy Tiger Prawns with Bruschetta or Fresh Mussels served in a Chilli, Tomato and Basil Sauce. For a quick snack with a glass of wine you can enjoy Lite Bites ..Olive Bread served with a selection of tasty dips or a tasty Cheeseboard with a selection of Irish and continental cheese. Pizza lovers will also enjoy the wide range of Pizzas dishes available. Pasta lovers will enjoy Spaghetti Bolognese prepared from prime Irish minced beef cooked in a rich red wine garlic and herb sauce, served with garlic bread and parmesan shreddings.
